Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has cautioned church leaders against accepting money suspected to be proceeds of corruption from politicians.

Speakaing during a church service at AIC Kanisa in Mlolongo on Sunday, Kalonzo claimed that some politicians could be using the church to 'sanitise' the money they could have stolen from the public coffers.

Kalonzo asked church leaders to question the sourcs of the money being given to them by politicians before accepting it.

"The church must be stand to be counted in the fight against corruption by rejecting money suspected to be proceeds of crime," he said.

Kalonzo asked church leaders not to be compromised by politicians who want to use them to sanitise their  bad deeds.

The Wiper Party leader stated that the church has a big role to play in the renewed fight against corruption.

A section of leaders has been hitting out at church leaders for accepting gifts and money from politicians without questioning the soure.

Kalonzo said there is need for concerted efforts in order to slay the corruption dragon.

Two weeks ago, Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua also hit out at some church leaders accusing them of accepting 'bloody money' from politicians.

Governor Mutua further  slammed  religious leaders for keeping silent on the ongoing war against corruption.

The Governor said religious leaders must be in the frontline in war against graft.
