Addressing the press at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Tuesday,  Musyoka said there is no reason for residents to hate each other over the new political development in the county.

He asked Mutua and former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti’s supports to stop engaging in ugly scenes and use of negative propaganda.

“We must remain peaceful and calm as we wait for the Supreme Court decision,” Musyoka said.

Musyoka, however, exuded confidence that the Chief Justice David Maraga led court will uphold Mutua’s victory.

He said Mutua is the right leader for Machakos people.

“Governor Mutua's development agenda and the vision he has for Machakos people and Kenyans are see-able and a clear reason to why he will be reinstated," Musyoka said.

Musyoka hit out at certain politicians who he accused of fueling negative propaganda against Mutua.

Last month, the Court of Appeal nullified Mutua’s election on grounds that it was not free and fair.

The court ordered the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct a fresh gubernatorial poll in conformity with the law.

Governor Mutua, however, challenged the appellant court's ruling in the Supreme Court and is awaiting hearing and determination.

Mutua has equally exuded confidence that he will be reinstated as his eyes the 2022 presidential seat.
