An elected MP allied to ODM party has expressed her happiness after Migori voters voted for Ochillo Ayacko as the third senator in the just concluded senatorial by-election.
Kisii County MP Janet Ong'era while speaking on Tuesday in Kisii town said Migori Governor Zachary Obado lost in the election because he was supporting a different candidate.
"I am happy now that Migori people dumped their governor and voted for Ayacko as the next governor. Obado should know he could not succeed in changing the will of the people in Migori by endorsing Eddy Oketch," she said.
Mrs. Ong'era reiterated that ODM party is still a strong party in the Nyanza region and urged politicians to seek the party ticket to vie for various politicians seats in future.
"Claims that our party leader Raila Odinga is a dictator are false. Political aspirants should join the ODM party ahead of 2022 to compete for tickets. ODM's win in Migori is clear proof that the party is still strong. People like Governor Obado must either exit the party or stick to the rules and policies," said the MP.
She called on Mr. Ayacko to ensure impunity such as corruption comes to an end in Migori County.
