Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has pledged to assist over 400 graduates in the constituency secure employment.
Kuria made the announcement in a Facebook post on Tuesday after holding a meeting with graduates drawn from various fields such as engineering, ICT, agricultural, business, health and media.
The vocal MP said the employment plan will be rolled out for one year, after which all the graduates are expected to have been absorbed in different companies both locally and abroad.
Kuria also noted that he will assist some of the graduates to secure the loans which are offered by the national government in a bid to enable them to venture into self-employment.
"We set out a plan to ensure we have no unemployed graduates in Gatundu South within the next 12 months through local and foreign job & internship placements and provision of capital to start off businesses using existing national funds," read Kuria's post in part.
Kuria also announced that he will offer a full scholarship through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to one of the graduates set to pursue her Master's degree in London.
"At the request of the unemployed graduates, and through my National Government Constituency Development Fund, we will give a full scholarship to University of Nairobi Political Science and Sociology graduate Felistas Wanjiku Mbugua who has been admitted for a Masters Degree in Public Administration at the prestigious London School of Economics," said Kuria.
The MP also promised to assist the graduates to acquire passports in the next one month.
"As we work towards ensuring all the unemployed graduates get jobs, my office will assist all of them to acquire passports over the next 30 days," he added.
