Several bales of expired wheat flour from three famous brands in the country namely exe, golden and Dola were recovered from the house.

The duo, Samuel Kimani and Joyce Nyambura were arrested in their house in Sirange after a police raid.

According to detectives, the police acted on a tip-off from members of the public.

The suspects are said to have been repackaging the flour whose expiry date was July this year.

They were packing them in new packets with new expiry dates.

This comes just a few weeks after five tonnes of expired diapers were nabbed at a go-down in Mlolongo town, Machakos County.

Workers at the go-down were found rebranding and repackaging the diapers.

They were also caught red-handed as they changed the diapers' expiry dates.

The diapers were said to have expired in 2017.

This prompted the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to summon Kenya Bureau of Standards (Kebs) officials, clearing agents transporter and the go-downs owner.
