A man who was on a Westalnds route found himself in the middle of danger from terrorists at 14 Riverside Drive Complex in Nairobi after he preferred saving lives to wife's piece of advice.
Narrating to journalists, the licensed gun owner received a warning call from his wife to avoid using his usual route due to the attack.
"My wife called akaniambia usipite hiyo njia kuna terrorists, nikamwambia rafiki yangu let us go we can save lives," narrates the man.
The brave man arrived at the hotel and immediately joined the rescue team.
"I decided to enter the place while holding my gun, we saw people on the floor seeking for help. We coordinated with some police there so that we could take cover for each other while trying to save these people," he continued.
The man revealed that they worked hand in hand with Parklands police office in their mission of rescuing innocent Kenyans from the attackers.
"One terrorist who was inside saw us and started spraying bullets at us from the top, we responded by shooting back to take cover of ourselves," he added.
The man together with police officers managed to save at least three people from the horrific scene.
"The third person we tried to reach was still crying and seeking for help, we rescued the person , then went for the second one and rescued at least three people," he added.
