Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has pleaded with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to endorse his 2022 presidential bid.
Governor Mutua argues that he stands better chance to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 than Kalonzo and other candidates who have declared interest in the top seat.
Speaking during an interview on KTN on Thursday, Mutua said that he has what it takes to bring the change Kenyans are yearning for.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap governor said that Kalonzo and others eyeing the top seat have been in politics for long and should give him chance to be President.
"I will reach out to my brother Kalonzo and others who are eyeing the seat to endorse my candidature because I believe I have what it takes to be the country's fifth President," he said.
Mutua stated that his party has a strong manifesto that will transform the country's social, economic and political sphere if elected President in 2022.
The Machakos governor said that he is serious in his bid to succeed president Kenyatta.
Governor Mutua said that he is assembling his campaign team and resources as he prepares for the presidential battle in 2022.
The governor dismissed claims that he will agree to be someone's presidential running mate stating that his eyes are focused on the presidency.
A section of Ukambani politicians are piling pressure on Mutua to shelve his bid in support of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka who is also eyeing the presidential seat.
