Nominated Member of Parliament Maina Kamanda has weighed in on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) yet again.
Speaking at the Capitol Hill Square on Thursday while flanked by veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga and other Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders, Mr Kamanda appealed to Kenyans not to talk about it until its contents are made public.
The former Starehe legislator contended that talking about its contents would not be an objective undertaking as the contents had not been made public.
"We are waiting patiently for the document so we are appealing to people not to start talking about the BBI because they have not seen the document," the nominated legislator said.
The BBI committee is in the process of compiling a report on their findings and recommendations after collecting views from Kenyans from across the 47 counties.
Its compilation is happening in the backdrop of a raging debate on the so-called Punguza Mizigo Initiative that is being deliberated on by county assemblies in the countries.
So far, four out of the five county assemblies that have deliberated on it have rejected it.
Proponents of the BBI contend that it will help usher the country into a new governance structure away from the tensions that have characterised past elections.
