AFC Leopards Head Coach Andre Casa Mbungo has requested AFC Leopards management to allow him to hold two training sessions a day – in the morning and evening.
This is according to AFC Leopards Rescue Team vice chairman Dan Shikanda.
Leopards on Saturday lost their eighth match in the Kenya Premier League, going down 2-0 to visiting Mathare United at Kenyatta Machakos Stadium.
According to Shikanda, Mbungu has told the management that the reason for him to request for two training sessions is because the players are unfit and it’s the reason why they are not performing while a total of nine players in the team are left-footed.
“The head Coach has told the rescue team that players are unfit and nine of players in the squad are left-footed. If we can address these challenges, then the team will definitely avoid relegation,” said Shikanda.
Shindaka also revealed that the Rescue Team will make a few recommendations, among them, strengthening of the squad in by signing more players.
“We will recommend that they sign a few players-a central defender, central midfielder, a playmaker and two strikers,” he added.
Leopards still sit in position 17 with 10 points having played 14 games, winning 2 drawing 4 and losing 8.
