Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka's father Peter Musyoka Mairu is dead.
Reports indicate that Mzee Mairu died on Saturday night while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi hospital.
He was 94-years-old at the time of his death.
It is still not clear what Mzee Mairu was ailing from as the family is yet to issue a statement regarding his death.
So far, a number of leaders have sent condolence messages to Kalonzo's family.
Opposition Chief Raila Odinga condoled with the family and prayed for God's comfort.
"Pole sana my brother Stephen Musyoka following the passing on of your Father Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu. We share in your grief. May God grant comfort to your family at this trying moment," Odinga tweeted.
In a tweet, Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi noted that he was praying for the family.
"My brother and colleague Hon Kalonzo Musyoka, my sincere condolences upon the passing on of your dear father Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family as you walk this difficult path,” said Mudavadi in a tweet.
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko posted; " To my friend and brother H.E Kalonzo Musyoka, I’m deeply saddened by the news of your father’s demise, Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu. On behalf of Nairobi residents and my family, I’d like to send my condolences to your family and friends during this time of grief."
Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja posted; "I have learnt with sadness the demise of mzee Peter Musyoka the father to my party leader H.E Kalonzo Musyoka. My God comfort you and your family during this period."
