Former Kakamega Senator Bonnie Khalwale took to social media to lecture ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna after confrontation with Aisha Jumwa at a funeral in Malindi on Friday.
Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa forced Mr Sifuna out of the podium, accusing him of peddling ODM issues at a funeral ceremony contrary to Mijikenda culture.
And Khalwale, who has been condemning ouster of Mrs Jumwa from the ODM party, hailed the second term legilator for denying Sifuna a chance to speak at the burial of Benjamin Kingi, father to Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi.
"Honestly who is going to advice this greenhorn by th name of @edwinsifuna? We are making th @TheODMparty play ground so tiny that their jokers will have a very limited area where to fool Kenyans with tibim, tialala, etc. Congratulations @HonJumwa for ua commitment to the New Kenya," said Khalwale.
Mrs Jumwa is facing a possible by-election at her constituency after being ejected by the party's National Governing Council. She had appealed at the Registrar of Political Parties office.
But in a rejoinder, Sifuna told off Mr Khalwale, insisting that he could not retaliate against Jumwa since his Bukusu culture does not allow men to confront women.
"Hehehe... Omwami @KBonimtetezi hii ni siasa iliyopitwa na wakati. Besides sijui kama wewe ulifunzwa but for us the Bukusu we dont engage women in physical confrontations. Wewe jaribu hio siku moja uone ile slap utakula. Kesho niko kwako Ikolomani," he said.
A video making rounds on social media shows a calm Sifuna staring at Jumwa before gently walking away from the podium. Several ODM leaders were present at the burial.
