Judy Wangui and Michael Mathenge have been in custody for over one month after being allegedly implicated in the murder alongside Wambui's husband Joseph Kori.

However, Kori was released from police custody two weeks ago after the prosecution failed to provide evidence linking him to the murder of his wife.

The duo on Monday appeared before Kiambu High Court Judge Christine Meoli where they denied charges of killing Wambui on the night of January 26, 2019, at Four Ways Junction.

The judge set March 18 as the date of the next hearing of the case and the presentation of their pre-bail report, on the request of lawyers from both accused parties, reports the Nation.

The judge also rejected Wangui's lawyer Doreen Kalii's application to have her direct the police release her client's Mercedes Benz which is being held as evidence, stating that the court should be allowed to deal with the bond issue first.

The police believe that Wangui is Kori's lover.

Police investigations indicated that the deceased who was buried over the weekend was hit repeatedly on the head, with what they believe was a pressure cooker.
