The Director of Criminal Investigations has dispatched a team of crimebusters to hunt down a gang of three killers believed to be hiding in Nairobi's notorious slums.
The three men are believed to be members of the dreaded Gaza gang.
Police leads claim the three are the actual men who raped, tortured and eventually used a sharp knife to stab the late Sharon Otieno and her unborn baby.
Described as 'hitmen' in investigations, police believe the three were recruited by those who wanted to eliminate the university students.
"In such cases, they must have been paid before they carried out the job or immediately after such that there are no more contacts," a source said.
According to journalist Barrack Oduor's statement to the police, these are the men Governor Okoth Obado's PA Michael Oyamo, left the two with in the grey Toyota Fielder.
Oduor then jumped out of the moving car and left Sharon alone at the hands of the killers.
Another police source that spoke to Daily Nation, said the driver of the Toyota Fielder, Jackson Gombe, gave an elaborate statement on the whole movement and where he dropped the killers.
This is the report police are using to trace the murderers.
Gombe will, on the other, mostly like be used as a prosecution witness.
