The case between the governor and former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti will take longer after the Supreme Court went on a recession.

In a Gazette Notice No. 7645, issued by Chief Justice David Maraga on July 6, the court will resume on September 14.

“The August vacation of the Supreme Court shall commence on Wednesday, August 1 and terminate on Friday, September, 14 both days inclusive. A judge will be available during the vacation to deal with matters that are urgent or require prompt attention,” reads the notice in part.

The recession comes at a time when Mutua has been hinting at a political reunion with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

The two leaders have maintained that they have nothing against each other.

The duo's recent meeting at a church function in Nairobi has caused a stir online.

A section of residents from the Ukambani region believes that the reunion of Kalonzo and Mutua will be good for the Kamba unity.

On the flip side of the matter, Kalonzo will walk a tightrope if Mutua’s win is nullified.

The governor has, however, maintained that he won the August 8, 2017's election in a free and fair manner.
