Kenya gospel artist Willy Paul and his counter-part, Tanzanian artist Nandy are still receiving messages of encouragement from fans and fellow musicians after a van carrying their crew and dancers were involved in an accident.
Among those who came out to stand with the musicians after the accident is Tanzania’s star Diamond Platnumz.
In a 4 minutes video posted online, “The One” hitmaker empathized with Nandy and her crew. Diamond’s prayer was that the rest of the team travelled to Sumbawaga safely to perform in their show.
“Kiukweli nimeona na nawapa pole sana. Natumai Mwenyezi Mungu atawajalia watafika salama, na wakifika salama pia Mungu atawajalia show yao pia itafanikiwa salama. Kwa sababu ni kijana ambaye anatafuta na ukiona mwanamke ambaye anajitoa anafanya vitu basi ni wakusapotiwa sana. Na media pia iendelee kumusapoti,” he said in part of his interview.
This loosely translates to: To be frank I saw it and am sorry. I hope God will grant them a safe journey to their destination and also make their show successful. She is a youth who has dedicated herself in hustling and such a woman needs total support. The media should also support her fully.
The two were among other artist travelling to perform at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Sumbawaga, Tanzania for a show.
The van was badly damaged with its passengers sustaining injuries. The injured were rushed to the hospital.
In social media posts seen on Willy Paul’s walls, they arrived safely and performed well in their show.
