A nominated Jubilee female senator has reacted after ODM party expelled Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa over her alliance with Deputy President William Ruto.
Millicent Omanga slammed ODM party leadership for expelling Jumwa.
"Aisha Jumwa is one of the fast-rising women leaders in this country. She is strong-willed, has a rare gift of the garb and is amazingly talented. Her expulsion from ODM is thus unfortunate and punctures the credibility of ODM as a party that parades itself as a foremost promoter of democracy and women leadership," she said.
The vocal senator added; "We must call ODM's bluff for unfairly targeting Aisha and going a step further to expel her on very flimsy grounds. It's unbelievable that even though another ODM MP, Suleiman Dori, faced similar accusations, he was spared the axe. Isn't this witch-hunt and unfair treatment of women? It's abhorrent and unacceptable."
She urged Aisha to fight it all away and shame her detractors noting that ODM and its owners, should stop hypocrisy.
Jumwa was expelled from the party following his closeness with DP Ruto.
The MP has since dismissed her expulsion saying she will take ODM leadership head-on.
