A section of Nyamira leaders have reacted after DP William Ruto fired warning shots to school heads warning them against sending students home to collect school fees.
Ruto on Friday said any school head who will send away students on grounds of outstanding arrears will be dealt with accordingly.
Ex-Bonchari MP Protus Momanyi accused DP Ruto of threatening teachers stating he has been implicated by the latest Ipsos poll as one of the most corrupt leaders.
"DP Ruto should consider resigning because he is the most corrupt individual we have in the country and stop putting pressure on school heads. At times teachers will have no option other than to send students home to bring school fees because the government takes long to send money to various schools across the country," he noted.
Victor Swanya, a Nyamira based politician said the government should be sending money to schools in time so that teachers will not find an excuse of sending students home to collect school fees.
"DP Ruto can't threaten school heads yet the government takes too long to send money to schools. The government should move with speed and send money to schools in time for the smooth running of the school. No school will run without money," he said.
West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi said some school heads are fond of sending students home to collect school fees because they are lazy.
"Some school heads don't feel happy being in school. They send students home so that they can have time to loiter around. Laziness should not be condoned whatsoever," stated Kemosi. "Anyone found demanding parents to pay school fees for their children studying in secondary school especially those in day secondary schools should be arrested to face prosecution."
