An angry man descended on his daughter with kicks and blows on Sunday after the daughter allegedly stole a 'soap' from a neighbor.
This happened in Birongo, Nyaribari Chache in Kisii County.
Confirming the incident area chief Henry Nyang'au said Geoffrey Mose beat his daughter after the neighbor Gladys Nyakara reported that her soap went missing.
"Nyakara went to Mose's home where she reported that Mose's daughter had stolen the soap. Upon searching in the house the soap was found hidden under a sofa set," said the chief.
Nyang'au noted that angered Mose could not listen to the plea from neighbors to spare his daughter.
He said the victim was injured on her right ear and was rushed to a local clinic for treatment.
"It took the intervention of community policing officers who were searching illicit brew in the area to stop the man from beating his daughter. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment following the injuries she sustained," he stated.
The chief warned parents against beating their children saying they may end up killing the minors in the name of discipline.
