Reactions

"I thought you once rightly criticized this ill culture of naming public institutions after dead politicians, thieves and oppressors of Kenyans baptized as heroes?" said Patrick Permeris in response.

Another reply came from Emmanuel Ngetuny who posted:

"Rethink! It doesn’t have to be your name. You’ve heroes/heroines. Like your mother. Name after them."

"Is it a must for it to be called Babu Owino?" said Love Nature.

"What's all the obsession from our leaders in naming institutions after them? Really!!!" said Vitalis Omboyi.

"Why don't you just call it Embakasi East Secondary School?" said Irungu Macharia.

Christian-YK on his part said:

"Don't do that sir. It's better you give the school an iconic name that generations will derive pride in. Where all legends will stand United. But posting your names all over ain't a 21st century idea. Think about it again."

Some of his followers however, supported the idea.

"Tibim!! Nothing can stop a comrade who is dedicated to results," posted Marvin Gakunyi.

Jamal on his part posted: "Following the footsteps of Okoth Kenneth (Kibra MP). I can see you have plans to go far... We like that brother... Tell them you don't have to wait for second term to succeed. It can be done in 5 years."

"You're missing the bigger picture, the MP is working towards building a school for his constituents, the name of the school is a non-issue," said Victor Etela.

Robert Onderi questioned those opposed to the idea:

"So why is Babu Owino Secondary a problem?"

In his response however, the MP said there was nothing bad about the idea as he only wants to help his constituents.
