There's excitement among the county's residents ahead of its unveiling with scores seeing it as one with immense opportunities.

Here are some facts about the project that will shape president Uhuru's legacy ahead of the end of his two-term presidency in 2022.

1. The plant will produce 54.6 Megawatts.

2. It will be managed by KenGen, the corporation charged with power production.

3. The project which is owned by the Rural Electrification Authority (ERA) cost a whopping 13.5 billion shillings.

4. When it starts operation, the project will bring down the high cost of power that Kenyans have long been encumbered by.
