Another leader allied to the ruling Jubilee Party has hit out at National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henty Rotich over incompetence.
Speaking on Radio Jambo Saturday morning, nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura called for Rotich’s ouster, accusing him of misleading the government financially.
Citing the nation’s increasing debt, Mwaura hit out at the CS for continuously hoodwinking the country that the nation can survive the credit when in the real sense the situation is getting out of hand.
He noted that Rotich is to blame for the debt which is now approaching Sh5 trillion, for failing to advise the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led administration against going for more.
‘’Tuko na waziri bure anaitwa Henry Rotich ambaye anadanganya serikali. Hawezi hata kuambia serikali eti deni iliyonayo si sustainable (we have an incompetent minister who is continuously misleading the government that the national debt is sustainable),’’ he said.
The CS who only recently survived another ouster courtesy of his blanket authorization of the duty-free sugar importation is facing another impeachment following a motion filed by Kimilili lawmaker Didmus Barasa.
Barasa wants Rotich out on grounds of gross misconduct and constitutional contravention, claiming that the CS has failed to review the loan interest rate capping issue.
