A Njoro community-based organization has written to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission demanding urgent investigation in the office of Njoro MCA and ward bursary committee.
In a letter dated October 1, 2018, addressed to the Director EACC South Rift regional office in Nakuru and carbon copied to the County Bursary Committee chair, Beeston Community Based Organization has raised concerns over the manner in which county bursary in Njoro ward was disbursed between July and September 2018.
According to the CBO, the exercise was influenced by nepotism and favoritism as well as corruption.
Addressing media in Nakuru on Thursday led by John Njoroge, the CBO now wants Njoro Ward Bursary Committee to step aside in order to allow smooth investigations into the matter.
“We want the committee in Njoro ward on matters of bursary disbanded to allow investigations over concerns raised,” said Njoroge.
Our attempts to reach the office of the MCA for a comment on the same were futile as our calls went unanswered.
