Despite assurances that he will not be in ballot in 2022, ODM leader Raila Odinga may after all try his fifth luck for the top seat.
In April, through his psokesman Dennis Onyango, Raila dismissed senator James Orengo's assertions that he would be on ballot.
"The former Prime Minister is not interested in politicking. He is working closely to deliver the Big Four agenda with President Uhburu Kenyatta," he said.
Since then, Raila's continued association with Mt. Kenya leaders has elicited panic within Jubilee party with a section of MPs accusing of planting seeds of discord.
But Alego-Usonga MP Samuel Atandi, c close ally of Raila, now says the former Prime Minister will be on ballot 'come rain come sunshine'.
"Raila will be on ballot whether William Ruto like it or not but he will hit campaign trail at the right time and not now.
"He will retire from politics at his own volition and that is why those of us in ODM won't entertain reckless statements about his retirement," he said
Politicians allied to Ruto have been calling for Raila's retire even though the ODM leader has remained mum about his political future.
But in his various rallies, Raila has often warned Ruto against early campaigns adding that the country should concentrate on development.
