Deputy President William Ruto insists that ODM leader Raila Odinga is hiding in the handshake to distabilize Jubilee party.
In yet another scathing attack to Raila on Sunday, Ruto said that the ODM leader has a history of bringing 'confusions and conmanship' to rival parties.
“I was in ODM ...that is where they started summoning me like what they are doing to [Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha] Jumwa and [Msambweni MP Suleiman] Dori. They ensured that I left the party and even took me to court. That is what they want to bring in Jubilee but I want to tell them that will not happen,” he said.
The DP, who spoke for the first time of handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta, added that he will not bow down to Raila's tricks this time.
He said it will be difficult for the former Prime Minister to execute his 'ill plan'.
“The handshake is not a licence for you to bring confusion, propaganda and conmnaship into our party. If they have come to divide Jubilee and the government, we are telling them that we are alert and we know (what you are up to),” he said.
At Homa Bay on Friday, Raila said the country is ripe for a referendum to change governance structure, something that further irks the DP.
Despite giving an indication of retiring from active politics, Raila's allies led by Senator James Orengo intensified calls to have him on ballot in 2022.
