The Directorate of Criminal Investigation(DCI) announced the arrest of two senior police officers captured on CCTV Camera stealing narcotics from drug traffickers after ambushing them on Sunday.
The statement by DCI reveals that the two police officers, one a corporal by the name Alloys Onyango and the other a constable by the name Arbanus Mutunga were captured on CCTV getting away with narcotics worth millions of shillings.
According to the Tweet by the DCI, the heroin the two officers stole was at least 25 Kilograms.
"Two police officers captured on CCTV footage stealing narcotics worth millions of shillings have been arrested by Serious Crime Detectives. The two; Cpl. Alloys Onyango & Constable Arbanus Mutunga stole over 25 kilograms of Heroin which had been confiscated from drug traffickers," reads a Tweet by DCI.
DCI further gave the details on how the drugs were taken from the drug traffickers.
DCI says the two officers used one drug trafficker by the name Peter Okoth Odongo to lure narcotics owners. After luring them, the officers ambushed them and took away the drugs and dumped the suspects.
DCI reveal the names of the real owners of the narcotics as Alfric Odhiambo Otieno and Kenneth Sinzore.
DCI promised to take actions against those involved insisting no one will be spared in the war against crime.
