After a week of protracted verbal war between their camps, President Uhuru Kenyatta shared podium with his deputy William Ruto in Nairobi, both avoiding the thorny issues surrounding the war on corruption.

At Kilifi on Saturday, Ruto openly challenged the ongoing fight against corruption, insisting that it was predetermined with an aim of targeting him politically, a statement that may have marked the beginning of major infighting in Jubilee.

With Ruto hinting a possible duel with Uhuru, his allies led by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen asked the president to openly say that he's tired with his deputy, adding that their team is ready to move on.

At Eldoret, Marakwet East MP Kangogo Bowen led four others in castigating Uhuru in the fight against graft, insisting that Uhuru is free to support Raila Odinga rather than undermining his deputy openly.

"Mr President, kindly tell us if you're tired with your deputy. We are ready to quit and move on. We cannot be subjected to unfair treatment just because of 2022 politics," Murkomen said.

But Uhuru last week maintained that he will not be moved in his renewed fight against graft, adding that those with any evidence of him stealing should equally report to the DCI.

"We must fight and win this war against corruption. Nobody is going to stop us. If you have any evidence of Uhuru stealing, you're free to report me to DCI," he said in reference to Oscar Sudi's comments.

However at Nyayo, the two leaders did not wade into the debate but instead focused on addressing matters maternal health and improving healthcare in the country.
