A visibly angry President Uhuru Kenyatta caused a scene of Thursday during the Agricultural Show of Kenya Nairobi when he faced off with his Cabinet Secretary.
Uhuru was angered by reports that maize farmers had not been paid by the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB).
Making his speech, the President warned officials of the board for reportedly using money meant for maize farmers to pay traders who are believed to be cartels.
“I promise you and I swear before God, you try that again and you will see what will happen to you. We have seen what you did and we will follow you, government’s money belongs to the mwananchi, pay mwananchi first,” Uhuru said.
After he was through with his speech, Uhuru walked to where Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri was and confronted him in Kikuyu as the cameras’ microphones captured his voice.
“Mungiriha ni mukuona iyue (If you pay those cartels again, we will act on you),” Uhuru said in Kikuyu pointing at Kiunjuri.

Netizens have, however, dismissed the President's tough talk as a publicity stunt which will not be transitioned into actions.
