An aged woman is living in fear after suspected witches stole her underwear she had hanged outside her house to dry.
This happened on Thursday night in Manga, Nyamira County. Sophia Bochere said she wake up on Friday morning and found her pant missing.
“My husband died 5 years ago and my neighbor has been giving me threats. I suspect witches stole my underwear to use it to bewitch me,” she noted.
Area Nyumba Kumi official David Mwabora confirmed the incident and said investigations has been launched to bring the thief into book.
"We are investigating the matter and detailed information will be given without delay. Bochere’s neighbor will be questioned because it is true he has been giving the widowed woman threats,” he said.
He said witchcraft is on the rise in the area but anyone who will be found will face the law alone.
Mwabora called on members of the clergy to pray for residents who have turned to be witches to reform and turn to the Lord.
