The early dawn conflagration engulfed three dormitories, destroying property whose value has not yet been determined.

Students, on holiday tuition, were in the school's compound when the incident occurred in spite of the Ministry of Education banning holiday tuition.

Eliud Muchira, who is Keroka's OCPD, confirmed the fire incident, saying that he had received intelligence that the students had left the school after the fire.

The school's administration will be hard pressed to explain what the students were doing at the school yet secondary school students had broke for holidays.

This incident is sure to cast aspersions on the ability of the Ministry of Education to ensure that its guidelines are followed to the letter.
