Wajir Women Representative has surged the Chief Justice to hasten to hear of the appeal petition challenging the election of Governor Mohamed Abdi.
Gedi says that that the delay in hearing and ruling on the appeal is creating anxiety among residents in the county.
According to Gedi, Wajir people have a right to an expedited hearing and that the Supreme Court should expedite.
“@dk maraga people of Wajir County deserve justice and we are all watching,” she said on her twitter account in response to a tweet by renowned layer Ahmednassir Abdullahi.
The petition challenging Mohamed’s election is pending a hearing in the Supreme Court.
The High Court nullified Mohamed’s election on grounds that his academic papers were questionable.
While annulling Governor Abdi's election, the High Court noted that the governor refused to come to court to defend his academic papers.
Governor Abdi then appealed the ruling in the Court of Appeal.
The appellate court dismissed the appeal reinstating the High court ruling that nullified his election.
The Jubilee governor then rushed to Supreme Court to appeal the ruling.
The CJ Maraga Court issued stay orders stating that Abdi will remain governor pending hearing and conclusion of his appeal
The petition had been filed by former Wajir ODM Governor Ahmed Abdullahi.
