Safaricom on Tuesday announced that its customers can now get their calls paid for by loved ones. In a statement to newsrooms, the telecommunications giants said the new feater is dubbed 'reverse call'.

For you to benefit from the service, you will be required to add # before the number you wishes to call. Whoever is being called shall then receive a normal call but with a request to dial 1 to accept to pay charges for the caller.

For example, if one wishes to call 0712345679, he/she dials #07123456789. The cost of the call uses normal charges as per tariff one is subscribed to.

"At Safaricom, we maintain our commitment to always provide our customers with relevant products in line with their needs. This innovation is in line with this commitment and has been tailored to mirror the relationships between our customers with the goal of empowering them to always remain connected with their loved ones, " said Slyvia Mulinge, Chief Customer officer at Safaricom in the statement.

The new feature is only available for on-net customers. The service compliments 'please call me' feature.
