A Jubilee MP has asked Garissa Township MP Adan Duale to support NASA leader Raila Odinga's referendum calls.
Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i said DP William Ruto who Kenyans thought will oppose the referendum supported it.
"Duale must consider publicly supporting Raila's referendum calls because Ruto who many thought could not support it joined Raila to push for the referendum," he said.
According to the lawmaker, Duale who doubles as the National Assembly Majority leader should now be at the forefront urging Jubilee MP to push for the referendum.
He insisted that Jubilee MPs should rally behind the referendum push and ensure no posts are created.
"MPs allied to the ruling party must take part in amending the constitution but, under a condition that no posts can be created so that the former Prime Minister can penetrate the government. It is time Duale should give directions the Jubilee lawmakers should follow," he added.
Tong'i assured that he will mobilize his constituents to fully take part in the referendum when time comes.
He warned the ODM leader against pushing for the referendum only to create a post for him in government.
The MP was speaking on Saturday at Ibeno in his constituency.
