Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has reiterated his name will be on the ballot in the 2022 general election.
The vocal legislator stated he will not be defending his seat but will be seeking to take over power from President Uhuru Kenyatta who is set for retirement after serving his second and final term.
Speaking during an exclusive interview on Hot 96, Kuria said he has qualifications to occupy the house on the hill and vowed not to back down on his bid.
"I will be on the ballot come 2022. I am above 35 years and that is one of the qualifications of being a president. I enjoy support all over Kenya," he said on Monday morning.
Asked who will he pick to be his running mate, Kuria mentioned Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga, Deputy President William Ruto and Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana.
"I wouldn't mind Baba (Raila), William Ruto or Kivutha Kibwana being my running mate," he told Hot 96 FM
The second-time legislator said he was optimistic of defeating Ruto, who is the deputy leader of Kuria’s Jubilee Party, adding he will still work with him in case he would emerge victorious.
"Who goes to elections to lose? I would accommodate him (Ruto) in my government," he stated.
A good number of politicians have already expressed interest in succeeding Uhuru some of whom include Ruto, Raila, Kibwana, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetang'ula, Musalia Mudavadi, Gideon Moi among others.
