Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria is in doubt that opposition leader Raila Odinga may have attained a genuine Engineering Masters Degree when he undertook studies in Germany.
Kuria who since 2013 has been one of Raila's fiercest critics said that a recent Facebook post made by Raila during his visit to Germany may actually be proof enough that the former Langata MP does not hold an Engineering Masters Degree.
He made the remark after Raila posted a photo of him a man he says is his former supervisor Prof Adolf Neubaue at the Otto Von Guericke University Magdeburg in Germany on August 28th.
"This week represents major victory for Kenya on many diplomatic fronts," Kuria said in a Facebook message accompanied by a screenshot of Raila's Facebook post.
In his message, Kuria also published two screen shots of Raila's post apparently doubting when the former prime minister was at the University for his Masters studies because the time Raila was at the institution (1965-1970) contradicts what is indicated on Wikipedia on the year the University attended by the son of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga was founded.
Raila according to Wikipedia received a scholarship (Masters Engineering) in 1965 which sent him to the Magdeburg Technical School. The institution is now the Otto Von Guericke University Magdeburg, founded in 1993.
Kuria questioned how a man who was awarded a scholarship in 1965 would boast of having attended an institution which according to another screenshot he posted on Facebook was founded in 1993, 28 years later.
But the point Kuria may have missed is that the technical school Raila went to (Magdeburg Technical School) was later on elevated into a university now called Otto Von Guericke University Magdeburg where Raila took the photos from on August 28th.
