Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen now says President Uhuru Kenyatta's handlers have seemingly failed to sabotage Deputy President William Ruto thus their tactical approach to use blackmail.
On Saturday, Jubilee vice chairman David Murathe yet again insisted that the DP is unfit to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta, arguing that he might move to Supreme Court to block Ruto.
"Deputy President seat is like presidency. You can't serve for more than two terms. I will move to Supreme Court to seek advisory opinion on the matter. He must retire," he said.
Further, Murathe said, Ruto's powers are same as that of Uhuru thus the pressure on him to have him retire from active politics.
But in a quick rejoinder, Murkomen suggestively said the State House team allegedly pushing for Ruto's exit has exhausted options, adding that they are now using blackmail to have him drop his ambitions.
"Since voters are impossible to convince and considering we can’t change the Constitution, we should go to Supreme Court to stop him by all means. Ama namna gani my fren?" he said. https://twitter.com/kipmurkomen/status/1081593282138947586?s=19
Last week, the DP said he's ready to battle out in Jubilee party primaries, adding that he's ready to support whoever who may beat him fairly.
Mr Ruto is struggling to unite members of his party after ODM leader Raila Odinga agreed to work with his political nemesis President Uhuru Kenyatta.
