Just a few days after mourning his friend Prof. Oyugi Muga, ODM leader Raila Odinga has joined the family of Nyarangi Moturi following the death of the former minister.

In a call to Col (Rtd) Nyayiemi Moturi, Raila hailed Mr. Nyarangi, who also doubled as North Mugirango MP from 1988 to 1992 are a pro-development leader.

"He has conveyed his condolences to the family and we are grateful. He is a family friend and has never left us.

"It was just a general message I explained to him the long battle ify brother since 2013 until his demise today," revealed the former military officer cum politician.

Mr. Moturi, the founder of CORD affiliate Chama Cha Mwananchi, vied unsuccessfully Nyamira senatorial seat in 2013 and lost to Okong'o Mong'are.

Since then, he minimised his political maneuvers and made little presence in 2017 elections.

Among other leaders who have mourned his demise include ODM Treasurer Timothy Bosire, MPs Joash Nyamoko, Ben Momanyi and Jerusha Momanyi.

He served as Assistant Minister in Energy and is credited for power transmission in the larger Gusii region during the reign of President Daniel Moi.
