Outspoken lawyer Miguna Miguna has claimed that the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga felt threatened because he (Raila) thought the Miguna was going to succeed him as the 'Luo Kingpin'.
Speaking during an interview with Jeff Koinange in JKL Show, the self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) general insinuated that he posed a threat to both Uhuru and Raila.
Miguna further said that Raila felt that since he (Miguna) was the kingmaker, he, therefore, knew all the tactics and since the former Prime Minister had already given up on the course of being the president, then it looked that Miguna was going to be the kingpin.
For that reason, Raila wanted to tame his influence.
"Raila Odinga felt threatened because he felt his succession issue within his supporters was a foregone conclusion. He thought I was his successor and now he wanted to cut my leg and head," Miguna said.
Miguna suggested that the handshake between Uhuru and Raila was pre-arranged and was as a result of the threat he posed to the duo. Miguna says that explains the arrests and charges he faced while Raila Odinga who took the oath walked free.
"Why is it that I'm arrested, charged with treason, detained and not released despite 15 court orders but Raila who is the one who had taken the oath left scot free. I was a threat to both Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga," Miguna noted.
