Nakuru Town is currently ranked the 4th largest city in the nation after Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu cities.
The lakeside town which grew as a result of the railway passing nearby is also set for a city status soon, with there being anticipation that it could be promoted in the next few months.
Its population is also ballooning and is ranked among the most populated due to rural-urban migration.
However, did you know that there was a time when the town had very few people that you could see the eastern end of Donald Avenue (now Kenyatta Avenue) from the other end?
Here are some of the photos depicting the actual state of Nakuru in the 1950’s.
