Speaking on Radio Maisha Monday morning, Onyonka claimed that close to Sh9 billion is allocated for the purpose.

He termed the same as misuse of public funds by the government, pointing out that some lawmakers take advantage of the opening to go for expensive trips which are of no benefit for the country.

‘’Mbona wawekewe bilioni 9 za kutembea na wakirudi hakuna manufaa wanayoleta? Mbona waende hadi Israeli eti kuona ng’ombe wanavyozaa ndama? Huu ni uharibifu wa pesa za umma.

(Why do they have to spend 9 billion shillings on such and still come back home with nothing to show for it? This is wastage of public coffers),’’ he noted.

He further hit out at the government for allocating more billions for unrealistic purposes, including Sh1.5 billion allocation for cheap gas cylinders for Kenyans.

He added that another Sh5 billion is pinned on the budget to supposedly equip primary and secondary school students with computer skills, terming both unnecessary.

‘’Eti wserikali imeweka billion 1.5 za mitungi ya gesi . Huu huenda ni mpango tu wa pesa hizo kutengwa ili baadae ziingie katika mifuko ya watu (this is most likely a plan to isolate the funds to facilitate theft),’’ added Onyonka.
