Former US President Barack Obama arrived in the country a few minutes past 1 pm on Sunday.
Obama, who is in the country to launch a sports centre under the Sauti Kuu Foundation in Siaya County, met President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House Nairobi shortly after his arrival.
He was accompanied by his sister, Dr Auma Obama.

After meeting Obama, President Kenyatta said, "It was a great pleasure to welcome you back @BarackObama" on Twitter.
The former president is expected to meet opposition leader Raila Odinga at Villa Rosa Kempinski Hotel, Nairobi at 4 pm.
Obama will tomorrow head to his ancestral home in Kogelo, Siaya county to launch the vocational training centre.
Security has been beefed up at Kogelo, where at least 1,000 guests are expected to meet on Monday.
Obama will then leave for South Africa where he will give a keynote speech in honour of the late anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela at the Ellis Park Arena in Johannesburg.
