"It is high time we told these people to stop because they want to kill this country. Let us unite and make this Kenya lasts forever," said Tiren.

The two-time legislator further pointed out that a probe into the contraband sugar saga had revealed that 60 per cent of the imported sugar is not safe for human consumption.

"I don’t want to discuss so much about the sugar issue as you will be seeing a report that will be tabled in parliament maybe on Wednesday but the truth of the matter is that 60 per cent of sugar is bad and Kenyans have consumed things that are now good," said Tiren.

There were concerns over the quality of imported sugar in the country with reports that some had harmful substances like Cooper, Mercury and Lead. This lead to a probe into the matter by the National Assembly Agriculture Committee after a nationwide crackdown on the contraband sugar saw tens of bags nabbed.
