Deputy President William Ruto allegedly gave North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko Sh1 million to hire goons in functions convened by ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire across Nyamira, it has now emerged.
On Tuesday, a group of bodaboda riders disrupted an ODM press conference in Ekerenyo with the party leadership shifting blames to Nyamoko, a first term legislator.
A seasoned MP from Gusii region confessed that Nyamoko is under instructions to dismantle Bosire's influence adding that he was financed by the office of Deputy President.
"He was given Sh1 million purposely to counter Bosire's political activities and that's the fact. I am aware that most of the money are geared towards blocking him from addressing functions," the MP said in confidence.
When contacted, Bosire accused Nyamoko of being used by the DP to spread hatred and propaganda against the ODM leadership in the county.
He said: "I am aware that he sent Sh50, 000 to his constituency manager to pay goons on Tuesday. He's under instructions to provoke me. I am not his age mate and that's a fact. He's a political toddler."
Efforts to reach Mr Nyamoko for a rejoinder were futile even though last week, he accused Bosire of disrespecting the DP in his functions.
Mr Nyamoko is a key figure in Ruto's campaigns across Nyamira while Bosire has been an influential ODM leader in both Kisii and Nyamira Counties for a decade now.
