Garissa Township MP Aden Duale on Tuesday met with Senator Yusuf Haji days after a section of the county politicians 'ganged' up and denounced him over his style of leadership.
“Held a meeting with my Senator Hon Haji at my office in Parliament Buildings. Discussed the status of our county and the progress made in building bridges,” Duale tweeted on his official Twitter handle on Tuesday.
In his tweet the leader of Majority in the National Assembly added, “As the longest serving civil servant and politician from our region we seek his guidance in many issues and as the leader of the house we work together on the interest of the community and the nation.”
On Saturday last week, a section of Garissa leaders led by Governor Ali Korane hit out at Duale, accusing him of allegedly dividing North Eastern residents.
The leaders also accused Duale of allegedly disrespecting clan elders.
They claimed that they no longer recognize Duale as the community leader and asked President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to engage them through Senator Haji and Governor Korane.
Duale, however, hit back at the politicians, saying that blames games are not healthy for the region's development.
The Garissa MP said that he will not be intimidated by his political rivals.
