Mbui on Tuesday expressed his hope that the Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury Henry Rotich will address the matter in Parliament.

"The CS National Treasury is coming to Parliament this morning to answer my question on the compensation of parents and guardians of Kyanguli fire disaster," he posted on Facebook.

Kyanguli fire tragedy occurred on the night of March 24, 2001, when a dormitory caught fire at Kyanguli Secondary School in Machakos sub-county, Machakos.

Sixty-seven pupils died during the incident, 58 of them were buried in six mass graves inside the school compound.

On March 3 2016, High Court judge Joseph Segon awarded the parents of the affected families Sh40.9 million where each family was to receive Sh600,000 for pain and suffering.

Since then, the amount has not been awarded a situation which made the bereaved parents to stage a  protest in Machakos on February 24, 2017.

The government has not issued any official statement on the tragedy nor nor given an  official explanation on the trial.

Our efforts to reach lawyer Kioko Kilokumi who was to effect the payments went futile since we could reach him through the phone.

What will CS Rotich say about the matter in Parliament?? Let's wait and see.
