President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Wednesday left journalists in stitches over his comments on a media girl during a presser at the Mombasa State House.
Museveni, together with his host President Uhuru Kenyatta were engaging the media on the two countries’ investment and relations plans.
A journalist only identified as June, then challenged Museveni on the prudence of the two Presidents’ investment choices.
In his characteristic style, Museveni responded with mockery saying he started learning of investment priorities way ‘before the journalist’s father was born’.
“Before your father was born … I am sure before your father was born, I saw a paper mill somewhere in Webuye,” Museveni said.
He went ahead to make fun of modern day journalists who are clueless of many things.
“Have you ever heard of Webuye? This one is dotcom, they know nothing about Africa,” Museveni said.
He went ahead to imitate how dotcoms speak to the laughter of those attending the media briefing.
During the moment, Kenyans were also surprised by President Uhuru’s admission of how the paper mill collapsed.
“I don’t know if the paper mill is still there, is it?” Museveni asked.
“It collapsed, it is now we are trying to revive it,” Uhuru responded.
Museveni is in the country for bilateral talks between his delegation and a team from Kenya.
