The Ministry of Education has selected Kibabii University in Bungoma county to play host to this year's National Drama and Film Festivals.
The competitions will run from April 3rd to 13th this year.
Kibabii University is among the youngest and fast growing higher learning institution in the country having been issued a charter in 2015 by President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.
In a tweet by the University, it expressed its pleasure for the honor conferred to the institution to host such an auspicious event.
Kibabii University has been outstanding in the field of Music, drama and other co-curriculum activities being the East African heavyweight Taekwondo champions.
"Kibabii University has been appointed by the Ministry of Education to host the 60thKenya National Drama and Film Festival between 3rd to 13th April 2019," read the Tweet.
The drama festival will encompass all cadres from early childhood education (ECDE), Primary level festivals, secondary schools festivals, colleges and tantamount the peak of Universities festivals.
"The festival is for institutions ranging from Early Childhood Education, Primary, Secondary, Colleges and Universities," added the Tweet.
The University Vice-Chancellor Prof Isaac Odeo Ipara thanked the ministry of education for choosing the university which will be an avenue of marketing the institution.
Kibabii has this year hosted several national events and functions including being selected by the ministry to be the centre for the KUCCPS application and revision Center.
