A Catholic priest based in Kisii county has exposed police officers following the increased making, selling and distribution of illicit brew and other illegal drugs in the county.
Lawrence Nyaanga told a press in Kisii town on Sunday that some police officers are colluding with drug barons and illicit brewers.
"It is sad that police officers, who are supposed to fight illegal businesses, are the ones engaging in illicit brew business. The officers in many occasion give chang'aa dealers a go-ahead to sell, distribute and make illicit liquor so that they can get a bribe," he stated.
The angered priest pointed a case in Mosocho area, Kitutu Chache South where a woman confessed that even if she is arrested several times she will not be arraigned in court.
"There is a woman who is a notorious chang'aa seller in Mosocho. I was shocked when she revealed that police officers give her chang'aa which they take from other brewers to sell and give them money," he said.
Nyaanga regretted that there are no efforts being made to end the illicit brew business in the county.
