The boy was hospitalised with what witnesses described as 'bad condition'.

According to Citizen.co.ke, the vehicle that ran over the minor was carrying Ruto's pressmen.

"The boy was taken to Port Victoria Hospital in critical condition. Ruto's security men pushed us away from the scene of the accident," Paul Wafula said.

The Friday incident happened as the DP left St.Benedict’s Budalangi Secondary School where he had addressed Bundalangi residents.

"It was about 5 pm when I was told my child has been ran over by Rut's car. We rushed to the scene and were helped take him to hospital,"  Rosemary Adema, the boy's mother, said.

Another resident narrated to eDaily what happened.

“After knocking down the boy, security personnel of the deputy president prevented a Good Samaritan from picking him up. They, instead, placed him on the roadside. He had serious breathing complications at the time. The boy’s parents rushed to the scene and took him to hospital,” said the witness.
