Deputy President William Ruto has said that the National Government is ready to partner with Kisii county Government to start building houses as a way of fulfilling the Big 4 agenda of cheap housing.
"In Kisii here, the housing programme will be a priority. I ask Deputy Governor to sit down with the governor and secure land, we write an MoU with the national government and start building 2000 to 3000 rental houses for residents to access cheap housing," He said
Ruto who was speaking at Suneka in Kisii County during his tour on Thursday said the Cabinet Secretary for Housing has approved regulations that will guide the implementation of the affordable housing programme.
"Cabinet has approved regulations that will guide the implementation of the affordable housing programme, including financing, cost and design of the units to ensure quality and durability.
County governments should streamline the process so that we can provide decent housing to our people and create jobs during the construction phase," He Said.
Ruto who avoided focusing on Politics said the Government is majorly concerned in Improving the lives of Citizens.
"In our development plan, we will make sure that no region in Kenya will be left behind. We are ready to partner with County leaders to improve the living standards of Kenyans. We finished politics and its time to focus on Development.," H said.
Present were Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, Kitutu Chache South Member of Parliament Richard Momaima Onyonka, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro among other top leaders from Gusii.
