Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro refuted claims that his Nyeri Town counterpart Ngunjiri Wambugu was fully in Jubilee, arguing he came to the party to win votes.
In a K24 news video shared by Love Child in his official Facebook page, some MPs from Murang'a shared their views concerning a planned inter-denominational prayer rally which was poised to take place in the county on April 27 2019, where Deputy President William Ruto was to be the guest of honour.
It was later alleged the meeting was put off because Ruto would not be present on the scheduled date.
“The Deputy President will not be available for the rally and since he was the main guest, we have postponed the meeting to May 11,” Stephen Maina of Full Time Winners Gospel Church and the chairman of the bishops’ forum told Daily Nation on phone.
The MPs who talked to K24 TV addressed the issue of national unity which was to be part of the prayer item in the rally, together with Central Kenya's support for Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
Nyoro denied there were major divisions in Jubilee Party arguing that a few who held divergent opinions, especially those who were critical of the DP either lost their seats in 2017 or were aliens who defected to the party to win votes.
"What we have is a splinter of people who came to Jubilee just to win seats. Some like Maina Kamanda lost. Others are the likes of Wambugu Ngunjiri. I mean, who on earth can call Ngunjiri Wambugu a Jubilee member? His face is written oranges. He smells oranges," argued Nyoro.
The youthful legislator opined that supporters of the deputy president needed not to be vocal for people to know where their allegiance was.
